Miami Beach’s Top Reviewed Restaurant welcomes renowned Japanese-Peruvian Chef Toshiro for “East Meets West” Festival August 14th – 18th

Dated: July 19, 2012

The world-renowned pioneer of Japanese-infused Peruvian cuisine, Chef Toshiro, will be presenting his creative dishes for Miami Beach’s Pied a Terre during a Festival from August 14th to August 18th entitled, “When the East Meets the West”.

This exciting gastronomical experiment is part of a recently introduced Visiting Chef Program that will see Chef Toshiro at the helm of Miami Beach’s top rated restaurant – ranked #1 out of 542 restaurants in Miami Beach, according to TripAdvisor reviews as of this writing.

Toshiro is the first Japanese Chef settled in Latin America to receive a diploma from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing for his contributions to the dissemination of Japanese cuisine throughout the world. His international notoriety is exemplified by countless awards and invitations that have taken him around the world from Spain, Italy, Venezuela and now most recently to Miami Beach.

Chef Toshiro’s commitment to perfecting his craft led him on a two and half month expedition at sea to learn more about the surrounding waters of Peru before taking to dry land to explore the villages of the Andes. On his journey he successfully grew seeds from Japan that he had brought with him, eventually inspiring him to fuse both regions’ ingredients.

Pied a Terre Restaurant is located in the landmark Cadet Hotel. Cadet Hotel was built in 1942 and once served as home to Clark Gable and the Air Force cadets during training shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Today, Pied a Terre restaurant serves as the soul and life of the hotel, where diners can relax and enjoy a new culinary adventure at every meal.

You can reach Pied a Terre at 305-531-4533 or the Cadet hotel at 305-672-6688. A reservation is recommended due to limited space. Visit the Pied a Terre Restaurant website at for more information or to make a reservation.
